The Future of Hollywood

Here we go into the wonderful world of blogging. I feel like a kid in the 90′s rocking bellbottoms I’m so late into this trend. I will be using my blog as a motovational tool and a way to measure my progress. It’s also a good way to warm up into a long days writing. For you, the reader, it is an inside look at a begining Hollywood Screen Writer.

“Who the hell is this guy?” is probably a good question to be asking right now. I am a 22 year old who just graduated from college. I have that same old story of wanting to make films since I was 9. Using the families HUGE old camera (The kind that recoreded onto VHS … oh how things have changed) I made stupid little movies with friends. Later on, in high school, I learned that I could make films instead of doing other boring assignments. Generally I could write something or film something instead of doing what everyone else did. My friends got a good deal out of it when it was film making time. Automatic A if you were in my group. Thank god they didn’t know about SAG guidlines.
For some reason I thought I was going to become a computer geek. Being a film maker was just a dream. Then things just started going right and with a push from the parents I followed my dream. After high school I went to the Newhouse School of Communications, graduated and now here I am. I love to write and I love to make movies.

When I make movies, I am zen.

This first blog posting comes to you live from Spain. I have been here three weeks with my dad and what an amazing journey it has been. Now I am ready to be back home, in small town Maine. I return on Wednesday then I get ready for ‘the big move’ to L.A. No place to live, no job, and not sure how I am getting my car out there. Adventure is good.

I have a few projects that I am working on all the time. One of them is in that phase where it could be finished fairly soon but I am scared to let my baby go. That is goal numero uno and I have some good ideas about who to send it along to. But not much can happen until I return from Spain, then its full speed ahead – on everything.
